Specialized's dropped clamp design exposes more of the seatpost to enhance deflection, but simply increasing this isn’t necessarily better. The Pavé seatpost manages that deflection for optimal vertical compliance. Together, they form the AfterShock technology, and when paired with the Roubaix’s rigid rear triangle, they deliver a smooth ride without sacrificing efficiency.

The new Roubaix SL8 is Specialized's most aerodynamic model yet, featuring new shapes from the Specialized Free Foil library and dropped seat stays. Weighing just 950 grams, the frame is lighter, incorporating lessons from the Aethos—the world’s lightest production frame—and a Fact 10r carbon blend. Nothing in its class is faster or lighter than the Roubaix.
